WILDFLOWER HIKE ON DEVIL’S STAIRCASE TRAIL
May 2 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Meet at the far north parking lot picnic shelter of Janesville’s Riverside Park. On this hike, we’ll look for the blooms of Dutchman’s breeches, hepaticas, violets, spring beauty, wild ginger, anemones, and buttercup. Dependent on the yearly variation in bloom time, there may also be columbine, trilliums, and Jack in the Pulpit. This hike showcases one of the best native woodland wildflower displays in Rock county. After an initial steep climb up a staircase, the trail runs parallel to a steep slope along the Rock River. The trail is narrow and the hiking difficulty is moderate. A hiking stick is recommended for all participants. This event is free and open to the public.
