We are again raising money for the Miracle League of Dane County and our goal is to raise over $30\,000. Last year our event raised over $26\,000.\nThe Miracle League of Dane County has built an inclusive baseball field for children with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. The field is in Cottage Grove at Bakken Park. Opening Day was June of 2021. Ninety-six children participated that year. Over 300 children participated in 2024 from seven counties including Dane\, Jefferson\, Waukesha and Rock County. The money raised will be used for field maintenance.

DESCRIPTION:We will watch a short film capturing a small group of Americans with opposing viewpoints modeling what a healthy public discussion of contentious issues could look like\, and coming to see some of the concerns and experiences behind each other’s positions. \nGroups that have participated in the past have applauded the appreciation of “listening TO each other instead of listening THROUGH each other.” \nWe will continue to offer opportunities to use the principles we practice in this workshop\, as Cargill confronts contentious issues that face us all.

DESCRIPTION:Meet at the parking lot located at the end of the entrance road\, 3550 W. County Hwy. A\, Janesville.\nMuch of this 160-acre arboretum is a beautiful mature forest\, and it also includes a creek\, prairie\, and marsh\, making it an excellent place for birding. In addition to the birds and other wildlife\, many species of native trees\, woodland wildflowers and fungi can be found here.\nThe possible 8 miles of trails at this site vary from easy to moderate\, with some steep slopes for those who want more of a workout. Our hike will cover only 2 miles or less\, but will include some uphills that participants may find challenging; hiking poles are recommended.\nThis event is free and open to the public.

DESCRIPTION:The Rock County Historical Society (RCHS) is excited to host the Airing of the Quilts\, a two-day event show casing dozens of stunning quilts crafted by local artisans. The event takes place from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday\, May 10 and Sunday May 11. Admission at the entrance is $5 a day; free for people 12 and under.\nThe celebration of quilting tradition will display quilts both indoors and outdoors\, transforming the historic grounds into a colorful tapestry of artistic craftsmanship. The event will include a schedule of demonstrations featuring vintage machines\, quilt embellishment\, paper piecing\, free-motion quilting\, and building a barn quilt.\nA Storybook Walk featuring The Quilt that Grandma Made by Kristin Caulkins\, will be on the grounds for outdoor exploration and quality family time.
