DESCRIPTION:Rotary Botanical Gardens will host a free community event on Saturday\, March 7\, 2026\, in celebration of Aldo Leopold Week\, honoring the life and legacy of Aldo Leopold\, widely regarded as the father of modern conservation. \nThe event will take place from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM and includes a documentary screening\, group discussion\, and guided tour of the gardens. While the event is free to attend\, pre-registration is required and no walk-ins will be accepted. \nThe morning begins with check-in\, light refreshments\, and a poetry reading\, followed by a screening of Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for Our Time\, a documentary exploring Leopold’s work and the ongoing relevance of his land ethic. Attendees will then participate in small and large group discussions before concluding with a guided tour of Rotary Botanical Gardens. \nThe first 35 registered participants will receive a free copy of Leopold’s influential book\, A Sand County Almanac. \nAldo Leopold Week celebrations began in Wisconsin and continue to serve as a way to bring communities together around conservation\, environmental ethics\, and a shared sense of place. \nThis event is presented with support from the Aldo Leopold Foundation. \nFor more information or to register\, visit rotarybotanicalgardens.org and navigate to Events & Education.
