To celebrate Misfit Felines Rescue is having a two-day cat and kitten adoption event at the Janesville PetSmart store. The hours are Friday (July 25th) 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm and Saturday (July 26th) 10:00 am to 2:00 pm). \nThere will be many cats and kittens available for adoption. All of them have been completely vetted including vaccines\, spay/neuters and microchips. They have been judged healthy and ready to be adopted into loving families. \nSame-day adoptions are available provided you have completed and submitted the Misfit Adoption Application. That application can be found at https://www.misfitfelines.org/adoption-application. Applications can also be completed at the event. However\, we cannot guarantee that application will be processed in time for same-day adoption.

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday July 26th\, the RCC will offer two different canoe/kayak trips on local rivers. The trips are free and open to the public. To participate in either of these trips\, you must make a reservation in advance by calling Dave Bendlin at 608-868-3824 by Friday\, July 25th. You are welcome to bring your own canoe or kayak\, but if you don’t own one\, there will be a limited number of kayaks available for use at no charge.\nThe first trip takes place from 9 am-1 pm on the Yahara River west of Edgerton\, WI. Participants will meet at Murwin Park off County Highway H in the village of Fulton\, WI where we will arrange shuttles among the participants. The Yahara River is a wide\, shallow river with a gentle current suitable for beginners and family-style paddling. Bring a beverage and snacks and wear clothes suitable for swimming.\nThe second trip takes place from 2–6 pm on the Badfish Creek near Cooksville\, WI. Participants will meet at Murwin Park off County Highway H in the village of Fulton\, WI where we will arrange shuttles among the participants. The Badfish Creek is a narrow\, twisting waterway with a quick current and many obstacles that require good boat control. It is not recommended for beginners who don’t want to get wet and is not suited for large canoes or family-style paddling. Bring a beverage and snacks and wear clothes suitable for swimming; we’ll stop along the way for a break where participants can swim if they choose.

SUMMARY:2025 Illinois Forage Expo
DESCRIPTION:Demonstrations\, equipment\, and education will be the features of the July 30\, 2025\, Illinois Forage Expo. The event will be co-hosted by the Don Brown Farm and the Eric Stiegler Farm and held at Eric Stiegler’s Farm\, 9776 Il Route 75 E\, Davis\, Il\, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. \nNew equipment from various manufacturers will be on display and/or demonstrated during the daylong event. Factory representatives and local dealers will be on hand to answer questions about the equipment. Field demonstration of hay equipment will include mowing\, tedding\, raking\, baling\, silage chopping\, and bale wrapping. Commercial displays of forage related products and equipment will be found in the vendor’s tent. \nEducational presentations will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. \nAlso\, a Quality Hay & Haylage Contest will be available for producers to enter 2025 harvested hay and haylage bales. Entries in the Quality Hay & Haylage Contest must be delivered on site from 8:30 am to 10:00 am. There is no entry fee and NIRS analysis will be provided free of charge. Bales weighing over 100 pounds need an official scale weigh ticket. Four hay classes and one haylage class will be available and class winners will receive a certificate. Producers are limited to one entry per class. \nThere is no admission charge for the expo; food will be available for purchase on site. \nFor additional information concerning the Illinois Forage Expo call Don Brown at (815) 238-8372. \nThe Illinois Forage Expo is sponsored by the Northwestern Illinois Forage and Grasslands Council and the Illinois Forage and Grassland Council. The expo is supported by University of Illinois Extension and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.

DESCRIPTION:The Senior Resource Center is excited to announce a new Chair Yoga class designed specifically for adults age 60 and older.\nChair Yoga is a safe and effective way to build strength\, improve flexibility\, and enhance overall well-being—without the strain or exertion of traditional yoga. Participants will enjoy calming stretches and simple postures that are accessible to all fitness levels. No prior yoga experience is needed\, and all adults age 60 and older are welcome to attend. \nClass Details:\n• Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays\, July 14 – August 20\n• Time: 9:30 – 10:45 a.m.\n• Cost: $60 for all 12 sessions (checks payable to Senior Resource Center)\n• Location: Senior Resource Center Activity Room\, 206 E. Stephenson St.\, Freeport\n• What to Bring: A long scarf \nThe class will be taught by Patricia Kessinger\, an internationally certified yoga instructor with more than 30 years of experience in health\, nutrition\, and fitness. She has taught classes\, workshops\, and seminars in Texas\, Oklahoma\, Kansas and Michigan. Kessinger is an experienced fitness coach and personal trainer as well as a yoga instructor\, and she’s even managed a multi-million dollar fitness center. \nPre-registration is required.
