WORLD PEACE DAY CELEBRATION WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20
The public is invited to gather at the Fourth Ward Park at 9 am on Saturday, September 20 for the annual observance of the International Day of Peace.
This event was established in 1981 by the United Nations and has been sponsored each year in Janesville by the Wilson Avenue Interfaith Peace Gathering. There will be brief remarks and prayers followed by coffee and donuts.
World Peace Day is officially recognized on September 21 each year. The theme for 2025 is “Act now for a peaceful world.” Wars around the world and tensions in our own country highlight the importance of joining together to pray for peace.
