First Lutheran Church in Janesville is coming to grip with the extent of the damage from April’s flash flooding event.
First Lutheran Church Pastor Michael Mueller says outreach ministries were heavily impacted. The first level of the building includes the child care center, the youth room, gym, and a medical loan closet.
Mueller says damage to the building’s basic systems including the boilers, elevators, fire panels, and electrical system is estimated at over $2 million.
Mueller says the church has reserve funds it can fall back on, but it will definitely be needing to do a capital campaign in the future.
